In the next 36 hours, two historic legislative victories could and should be achieved in Austin by our Pro-Life elected leaders in the 84th Texas Legislature. Republican leadership is poised to have a landmark session.
Tonight, Senator Charles Perry (R-Lubbock) will seek the passage on the State Senate floor of the Judicial Bypass Reform Bill (HB 3994).
Representative Geanie Morrison (R-Victoria) is the House author of this bill and already courageously lead its passage through the State House on May 14.
This legislation will reform the judicial bypass process for minors seeking secret abortions without parental consent.
Current law is riddled with anti-Life loopholes allowing abortion mills and attorneys to exploit sexually abused teens and to take advantage of their parents’ lack of involvement. The bill, fortified with important amendments by Representative Matt Krause (R-Fort Worth) and Senator Perry, offers long-awaited protections to minor girls and their parents.
Tomorrow, Representative Marsha Farney (R-Georgetown) will lead the charge on the State House floor to remove the coverage of abortion from insurance plans (SB 575). Senator Larry Taylor (R-Friendswood) authored and passed this powerful bill with the invaluable assistance of Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick on May 6.

Pray: Sen. Perry should begin laying out HB 3994 on the Senate floor at 6:30. The abortion advocates have put out the call for their forces of death to fill the gallery. As today is Pentecost, please pray all day and night that the Holy Spirit will grant Sen. Perry wisdom, courage, and perseverance.
