Waco Pro-Lifers petition to prevent Planned Parenthood reopening

Home of Christian private college, Baylor University, and HGTV-reality stars Joanna and Chip Gaines of “Fixer Upper,” the City of Waco and surrounding suburbs are typically portrayed as a small-town community with traditional values.

Unfortunately, the imminent reentry of Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion provider in the United States, will sully the values in McLennan County.  Due to defunding efforts led by Texas Right to Life in 2011, coupled by Pro-Life gains made through HB 2 (partly struck down by the Supreme Court last year), Waco has had a reprieve from the killing spree of Planned Parenthood in their backyard.

However, one local organization, Pro-Life Waco, is pulling out all the stops to delay or stop the doors of this death machine from entering Waco again.  “NEVER Again” in Waco has launched an online petition to the Board of Directors for Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas to abandon their hopes of reopening in McLennan County.  The petition can be found here.
As part of the “NEVER Again” campaign, Pro-Life Waco has also sent hundreds of letters signed by citizens to contractors and subcontractors in the area who may be approached to rebuild the abortion-giant’s facilities.  The letters urge these small town businesses to refuse working with such a business that profits off killing babies and hurting women.

Pro-Life Waco Director, John Pisciotta, had this to say about the importance of his group’s plans:

I don’t know that we can stop PPGT from resuming the shedding of innocent blood in Waco in 2017.  I do believe it’s crucial that we pull together and give them the fight of their lives in Round One.  Perhaps some of the things we do in 2017 in Waco can be helpful if pro-lifers in Midland or Lubbock or Corpus Christi find themselves in our shoes.

These cities also have seen the closure of abortion facilities in their communities following the passage of Pro-Life laws; however, the Supreme Court decision puts the Pro-Life gains in jeopardy for those cities as well.
