163 cities are preparing for the next 40 Days for Life campaign vigils to start on Wednesday, February 17th. Vigils have a long history in the Pro-Life movement because they really work!

Below are two examples that illustrate how vigils near abortion clinics saves lives.

Answered prayers: Pensacola, Florida abortion clinic closes.

With a very brief legal notice in the local newspaper, a Pensacola, Florida abortion facility quietly announced its closing. The clinic has been the site of three 40 Days for Life prayer vigils, including one that just concluded on November 1.

The notice read, “As of October 30, 2009, The Community Health Center of Pensacola will be terminating its practice.” This is the fifth closure of an abortion facility that has been the site of a 40 Days for Life vigil.

Kalispell, Montana Planned Parenthood abortion center closes.

Last spring, a 40 Days for Life prayer vigil was held in front of a Planned Parenthood abortion clinic in Kalispell, Montana. On November 20, that facility closed. Planned Parenthood admitted it did not have enough customers to keep the doors open.

The 40 Days for Life team in Kalispell is convinced – prayer is powerful, and it works!

A RENEWED SENSE OF HOPE

When Pro-Lifers unify, participants witnessed countless blessings from God:

Over 200,000 have joined together in an historic display of unity to pray and fast for an end to abortion

More than 70,000 people have taken to the streets, forming peaceful 40-day prayer vigils outside of Planned Parenthood centers and abortion facilities

Reports document 2,168 lives that have been spared from abortion — and those are just the ones we know about.

Twenty-six abortion workers have quit their jobs and walked away from the abortion industry.

Five abortion facilities completely shut down following local 40 Days for Life campaigns.

Hundreds of women and men have been spared from the tragic effects of abortion, including a lifetime of regrets.

More than 600 news stories have been featured in newspapers, magazines, radio shows and TV programs from coast to coast … and overseas.

Many people with past abortion experiences have stepped forward to begin post-abortion healing and recovery.

READY TO PARTICIPATE?

From February 17 through March 28, teams in 163 cities from coast to coast in the United States – as well as locations in Canada, Australia and Northern Ireland – will take part in vigils near abortion clinics.

LOCATIONS IN TEXAS

Eleven cities across Texas will host the semi-annual campaign. Many moms and babies have been saved from abortion by those reaching out to them from the 40 Days for Life effort.

The Texas 40 Days for Life locations are as follows: Abilene, two sites in Austin, Bryan-College Station, Corpus Christi, two sites in El Paso, Houston–at the flagship Fannin location and at the location that will soon be home to the world's second largest abortion clinic on the Gulf Freeway, Montgomery County, and in Waco.
