Lady Gaga supports abortion business Planned Parenthood

Pop singer and weird style icon Lady Gaga joins a cohort of celebrities raising big bucks for Planned Parenthood this spring.  Lady Gaga and more than 100 other famous friends of Planned Parenthood signed a guitar that will be raffled next month as part of the 7-Inches for Planned Parenthood fundraiser.  Like all abortion fundraising, the 7-Inches for Planned Parenthood  campaign doesn’t mention that the abortion business kills more than 320,000 preborn babies each year in abortions.  The focus remains on perpetuating the lie that Planned Parenthood is a lowly charity looking out for women instead of a predatory abortion behemoth making a profit from the death of innocent children.

In a statement from organizers about the star-studded campaign, the usual misinformation was in full-force:

Lawmakers with extreme views are working hard to shut down Planned Parenthood.  If they succeed, millions of Americans will lose access to basic health services, including STD testing and treatment, birth control, and life-saving cancer screenings.

Planned Parenthood’s claim that they are the only organization for women’s health care has been proven wrong countless times.  There are thousands of Federally Qualified Health Centers that are capable of providing legitimate health care for women without offering abortion, a procedure the majority of Americans finds morally objectionable.  In every state, including Texas, Federally Qualified Health Centers vastly outnumber Planned Parenthood facilities.  Texas has also taken great care to support women’s health care through the Healthy Texas Women initiative and the Alternatives to Abortion program.

Also, recent analysis shows that all legitimate health care at Planned Parenthood (breast cancer screenings, PAP tests, HPV treatments, etc.) steadily declined through fiscal years 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014.  Mammograms did not decline, because, in case you forgot, Planned Parenthood does not and never did perform mammograms despite what their political lackeys will tell you.

Meanwhile, as America’s largest abortion business, Planned Parenthood continued to kill more than 300,000 babies every year in abortions.  In the five years that saw a precipitous decline in actual health care, Planned Parenthood ended the lives of more than 1.5 million babies.  Planned Parenthood’s annual reports confirm these horrifying statistics.

While celebrating Planned Parenthood’s grisly 100th birthday and fear-mongering about the election results, Planned Parenthood demands the continuation of federal funding.  This is understandable.  Who wouldn’t want to keep receiving half a billion dollars in taxpayer funding?  But Americans should be asking more urgently than ever: Why are we funding Planned Parenthood?

The time has come for legislators to keep their campaign promises and end funding to Planned Parenthood.  The rich and famous friends of the abortion business
