San Antonio Celebration of Life energized the masses

Texas Right to Life’s Inaugural San Antonio Celebration of Life gathered more than 100 people to strengthen the Pro-Life movement in South Central Texas.  Event attendees were eager to partner with the life-saving mission of Texas Right to Life and equally excited about listening to keynote speaker Sandra Merritt, a Pro-Life citizen journalist who filmed undercover videos of Planned Parenthood’s organ trafficking enterprise.

Sandra’s unflinching bravery led her to expose the lie that the abortion industry cares about women.  Through her courageous work alongside David Daleiden at the Center for Medical Progress, the world gained an unprecedented look inside the most violent business in America – Planned Parenthood.

Now that Sandra and her colleagues have publicly shared what they witnessed, they have been unjustly subject to baseless and contrived persecution and prosecution.

The room grew silent and tense as Sandra shared stories of her undercover journey.  In recounting the jarring details of her experience inside numerous abortion mills, industry conferences, lunches, and meetings with Planned Parenthood’s leadership, Sandra tore the curtain and exposed their evil practice of killing babies and selling the remains for profit.

After the historic week our country and world lived during this past election, the Pro-Life community across Texas and especially in South Central Texas was anxious to continue protecting Life in our great state.

As they completed their fall semesters, a small sample of students in our Dr. Joseph Graham Fellowship shared about the Pro-Life efforts on their college campuses with supporters.  The program today encompasses 58 young leaders at 25 universities and will grow with the upcoming selection of the 2017 class of Fellows.

After learning how Texas Right to Life is working to ban abortion by dismemberment, event attendees did not hesitate to add their names to a petition to abolish this barbaric and inhumane procedure that kills babies by removing their limbs.

During the next session of the Texas Legislature, Texas Right to Life will also work tirelessly to increase the funds to the Alternatives to Abortion program.  One of the providers within the Texas Pregnancy Care Network, the recipient of these funds, is Seton Home in San Antonio.  Event attendees learned about their life-saving work of providing assistance and a home for pregnant and parenting teens in San Antonio.

Texas Right to Life is honored that statewide leaders, activists, and supporters joined us to celebrate Life and financially invest in our outreach and education programs.  We are humbled that such a diverse and committed group of Pro-Lifers chose to stand in the trenches with Texas Right to Life.
