Thanks to your generous support this spring, our legislative team was able to secure two hard-fought Pro-Life victories during the Regular 85th Session of the Texas Legislature. We worked strategically through the legislative process to pass the Dismemberment Abortion Ban by amendment, and we passed a patch on the state budget to defund Planned Parenthood.
But, the liberal leadership in the Texas House of Representatives prevented every other Pro-Life priority bill from passing. If we do not act swiftly now, another 54,000 innocent babies will be killed this year. Their blood is on the hands of elected officials who prioritized political games over saving lives. Because of failed leadership of the Texas House, Governor Abbott has called legislators back to Austin for a special session.
The Special Session of the Texas Legislature begins on July 18. Our legislative team of five will be spending every single day during this 30-day time period at the capitol working to save as many innocent lives as possible and chip away at the foundation of Roe v. Wade. We are rejoicing in the bonus opportunity to pass substantial live-saving bills.
With the clock running out, we are diverting all of our resources to Austin until July 18 when the special session begins.
