Weeks after the gruesome discovery of 2,246 bodies of babies killed in abortion at the home of abortionist Ulrich Klopfer, most of the media has gone silent. Like the trial of Kermit Gosnell, the discovery of the babies’ bodies is ignored by anti-Life news sources because the discovery unmasks the abortion industry. If abortion did not end a unique human being, there would not be thousands of bodies medically preserved and meticulously labeled in floor-to-ceiling boxes in Klopfer’s garage.
Despite the suppression by anti-Life media, the astonishing number of bodies in Klopfer’s house has managed to garner attention. At a press conference following the discovery, Will County Sherriff Mike Kelley said “I’ve never seen anything like this ever. It’s one of those once-in-a-lifetime things.”
Because the abortions that killed the babies likely took place between 2000 and 2002 in abortion mills in Indiana, the case was handed over to the Indiana Attorney General’s Office.
Indiana Attorney General Curtis Hill told media, “There are lots of unanswered questions concerning the why, the how, the what and we’re going to continue the investigatory process to determine, as best we can, why this occurred and what the purpose was.”
Hill added that Klopfer was “one of the most notorious abortionists in the history of Indiana” who “had a record of deplorable conditions and violations of regulatory controls.”
According to Fox News, “Hill said that that 10-year-old patient of Klopfer’s was raped by her uncle and the doctor failed to adequately document her abortion. Authorities are now investigating, among other issues, whether the fetal remains found at Klopfer’s home along with the recently uncovered medical records could help to nab the child’s rapist.”
What is most astonishing about Klopfer’s crimes is the fact that he is not an outlier in the abortion industry. Abortion businesses have a history of ignoring and covering up abuse, committing abortions on underage girls, and returning them to their abusers. Klopfer’s failure to report abuse was so flagrant that he lost his medical license in 2016.
The other most alarming aspect of Klopfer’s story is also not unique: the sheer volume and the death toll of abortion. As Dave Andrusko at National Right to Life News pointed out, Klopfer began his career as an abortionist decades ago in 1974, immediately following Roe v. Wade. In those decades, Klopfer murdered as many as 50,000 preborn babies.
Understanding this number is not difficult. A single abortionist who travels from California to Texas committed 50 abortions in 60 hours in a single trip. The abortion industry is high-volume, pushing vulnerable mothers to mega-abortion mills. In a single year in Texas, 54,507 preborn babies were killed in abortions in our state.
The news of the thousands of babies’ bodies in Klopfer’s garage should shock us but not surprise us. As Andrusko noted, abortionists like Gosnell and Klopfer are “not ‘outliers’ but emblematic of the kind of men who are attracted to a business where tens of thousands of unborn babies are slaughtered.”
